Psalm 91:2-4

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”  Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.  He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.  NIV

This entire Psalm is full of reminders not to worry.

All of the themes that I’ve been looking at are here — trust, refuge, salvation.

I love the image that “he will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.”  I got a note from a pastor once, and he signed it, “Under His Wings,” in the place where one might put “Sincerely.”  That made a big impression on me, but, I did not find this specific verse that it must have come from until this morning.

The Message translates verse 2: “Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.  I trust in you and I’m safe!” MSG

I am rejoicing in the promise of these verses today.
