Eight words to live by

Psalm 55:23b

But as for me, I trust in you.  NIV

Eight words.  My entire project can be summed up in these eight words.  What a comfort!

This morning, as I flipped through the pages of my Project Bible — the one I bought specifically to track the 365 reminders not to worry that I’m certain are there — I was delighted and comforted to find page after page of underlined verses.

God doesn’t just tell us not to worry, he provides example after example of how to conquer it.

And yet, if all I had was just this one verse, I would have the key — trust.

I trust.  Present tense.  Not “I will trust.”  Not “I have trusted.”  No contingencies.  No fear.  Just trust.

But as for me, I trust in you.

That’s what I’ll think about today.

  1. Wow. It does sum it up beautifully. And as usual the great truths are so simple and obvious. Lord help up to listen.
Jen and I are in a beautiful dune forest on the shore of Lake St Lucia. So restful.
