You’re never sorry you knocked

Psalm 9:10

Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. NIV

I am loving this word search on “trust.”  The reminders not to worry that I’m finding this way go straight to the heart of the matter.

Take this verse.

Those who know your name … if any of us has had an encounter of any sort with the Living God, we have no doubt that He is real.  We know His name.

will trust in you … once you figure out who God is in relation to who you are, it is easy to trust Him.  Easy may be an overstatement (our human nature can make this difficult) … but, it makes complete sense to trust Him.  He created the universe, yet He cares for us, his precious children.  The next phrase makes that clear:

for you, LORD … Almighty God, Alpha, Omega, the Master of the Universe.

have never forsaken those who seek you … The Message paraphrases this verse using the image of God as a safe-house, “The moment you arrive, you relax; you’re never sorry you knocked.” MSG

I don’t ever have to worry that God will forsake me.  He has never forsaken me.  He will never forsake me.  I am His.

That’s what I’ll think about today.
