Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. NIV

I love this verse.  I have it memorized, but, I couldn’t have told you that it was in Proverbs until this morning.  Part of the wonderful thing about this project, is that I’m working on committing more scripture to memory, writing it on my heart, if you will.  This is a verse that I’ve known for a long time, and that I found myself recalling this morning as I was chewing on an issue in my head, but I didn’t know where to find it.

When I found it in Proverbs, and when I looked at the way The Message translates it, this verse became even more dear to me — “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure everything out on your own.  Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;  he’s the one who will keep you on track.”  The Message

I don’t have to understand everything that is going on.  I can’t.  I need to trust Him and to know that he will keep me on the right track as I navigate the issues that come before me.  I am so thankful to have this knowledge as I start this day.
